Ultra rare latin/jazz album with Mulatu Astatke. "Soul power" is a killer afro/latin tune which is just to hypnotic. Record is fine at side 2 with a few tiny pressing bubbles. Side 1 has a few long scuffs at first tracks that doesn't affect play. However some noise at end of "Soul power". Cover is fully intact but has minor wear to the corners and the opening seam. THis LP is harder to find than Mulatu Astatke's LP at same label. US original.
"Sex drive in D minor" is a killer track that shakes up any dancefloor. Also the 2nd part of "What you gonna do" is great latin jazz. Rare latin album on the collectible Worthy label (same as Mulatu of Ethiopia). Record looks nice but has light background noise between tracks and in silent parts due to pressing (all copies we had have been the same). Cover looks great in shrink, minimal wear to the corners. US original.
"Too late" fantastic latin/soul dancer, plus the jazzy killer "Viajecito" and the soft soul cut "This time". Record has pretty much scuffs and wear, plays ok but some background noise at intros and softs parts. Cover looks decent front and back with wear to the corners. When you open the foldout you see damage to the opening, visual 1 cm at the first page and 7-8 cm at the other page where part is missing. Rare Peruvian original on Sono Radio.
Fine salsa album with tracks as the catchy "Papa boca". Record is between VG and VG+ with light surface marks, plays fine except for some noise at B2. Cover looks fine front and back but has split at lower seam 8-9 cm plus worn corners. Their rarest album which seldom turns up. US original, SLP 00422.
Uncommon LP on Joe Bataan's private label. Mix of early salsa and slow vocal tracks. I go for "Bendita ilusion", "La bendicion" and "Una traicion". LP in top shape with only a few soft hairlines, very close to EX. Front cover is fine with only mild ring wear but backside cover is a disaster with a third of the paper torned away. It was most likely stuck together with another record. Also a small split 3-4 cm at upper seam. US original from 1971.
"El Galleton" excellent latin track with a funky jazz edge! Record in fine shape, would pass for NM at many places. Cover looks lovely in shrink with minimal corner wear. US original.
Monster latin LP with the bomb "Subway joe" plus other killer tracks as "Juanito". Record in fine shape, tiny scuffs at start of start of "Subway Joe" but affects only with mild noise before the music starts. Cover looks great front and back but has about 10 cm split at lower seam. US early 2nd issue with cloud label from 1972 of gold label original from 1968.
Classic latin jazz LP with killer tunes as "Sandunga" and "Mambo dinero". Features great jazz players as Chick Corea, David Burns & Hubert Laws to name a few. Record has some minor surface scuffs but plays ok. Cover has minor wear to the corners, minimal tear on front and small stamp lower left corner on back. US stereo original, DL 74568.
"Tumba que tumba" absolutely wicked latin/jazz bomb. Record with light surface scuffs, but nothing major. Front cover has some wear to the left side where some paper is stuck on the cover. Backside cover has writings and upper seam is split in the middle about 10 cm. US mono original with yellow label, LN 3782.
"Porto Diablo" wonderful, cool descarga/latin tune that grows with each listen. Great heavy version of "Anabacoa" as well. Record in top shape, EX except for one superficial hairline over A5,A6 and A7. Cover looks great in shrink. US stereo original at Exodus.

BOOGALOO BLUES / MONO
COTIQUE - USA Original
LP · EX/VG- · 700 SEK

Classic latin LP packed with smoking, catchy descargas. Check "Descarga" or "Jumpy". Record in lovely shape with hardly any sign of wear. Cover has ring wear on front and massive stains on back. 5 cm split at upper seam, lower seam has transparent tape most part and is torn. US mono original that seems harder to find than the stereo issues.
"Right On" latin/funk bomb for the clubs. Popular album from 1972. Record in fine shape with some surface scuffs. One longer scuff at B1,b2 but plays ok . Cover looks fine front and back but has transparent tape at upper seam bout 3 cm. Lower seam 7-8 cm split. US original, both cover and label says mono but this one plays in stereo.

Y SU MAQUINA DEL TIEMPO
COCO - USA 2nd Pressing
LP · VG+/VG+ · 500 SEK

Best tunes for me are "Carnaval" & the funky latin fusion track "Gumbo". Record has a couple of small bubbles that cause minor distractions primarly at A2. Cover has ring wear stamp on back. US 2nd issue with primarly white label, says repress at discogs but both released same year in 1974.

ALGO NUEVO / SOMETHING NEW
FANIA - USA 2nd Pressing
LP · VG/VG+ · 500 SEK

Great latin/salsa LP arranged by Johnny Pacheco. Hard to stand still to tunes as "Descarga" or "Casino". Record has some long scrathes but plays mostly just fine, occasional clicks or background noise only. Cover looks fine in shrink but has some discoloration towards the opening and some stains under the shrink. US 2nd pressing with palmtree label.

LLEGÒ LA BANDA
SONO RADIO - Peru Original
LP · VG+/VG · 450 SEK

Salsa album from the productive Enrique Lynch. "La enfermera" is my tip here. Record in fine shape with only very soft hairlines. Cover has some discoloration on back, stains inside the cover and small sticker on front. Peruvian original.
"Mambo show" driving latin monster. "Clusters" is good too. LP only has one small dot in the vinyl at A4 not affecting play. Cover has one tiny stain on back and light corner wear. US original, red/green label and Broadway address.
Great latin jazz version of "My favorite things"! Record has a few light minor marks, nice copy that plays well. Cover has a little storage wear and a small drill hole. US mono original.
Three artists share an LP together, musically best at the Charles Foxx tracks. "Like so" is a lovely latin/jazz in a cuban style. All those tracks seem to be exclusive to this LP. LP in fine shape. Cover has a few tears on front right upper corner. US stereo original, SE 4037.
Obscure small label release with the bizarre "Pompa atomica". LP has surface marks but plays fine. Cover has tape on front , upper right corner, writings and stickers on back. Tiny writings at both labels. US original.
"Hit The Bongo" killer latin club favorite. "Pa'lante" top montuno track. Record in fine shape. Cover has cut corner, ring wear front & back, transparent tape at spine. Later Venezuelan issue with red/yellow tico label from late 70s or early 80's.
Joe Cain produced LP from 1975 with a sound similar to the Latin Tempo LP's. Best for me was "Perico macona" that grooves after a minute when the dead catchy horns comes in. Record has surface marks, plays decent but occasional light ticks can be heard. Cover has severe ring wear front and back plus seams taped with transparent tape. US original.

Latin album from 1965 with great vibe allover and one of these records that you enjoy listening althrough. "Rica combinacion" is superb however. Record has scuffs nad marks but not to bad, plays fine but occasional soft background noise can be heard. Cover looks great in shrink but has right corners a bit worn with lower seam having a small split. US 2nd issue from 1970 with cloud label of gold label from 1965.

"Picadillo" awesome, hypnotic latin/jazz tune. LP and cover in lovely shape, still in shrink. US stereo original, V6 8651 with black/silver T logo labels. Has deep groove.
"Soul sauce" and "Afro blue" killer latin jazz. Record has almost no wear at all looking like EX but has some shades in the vinyl at Side b, maybe from liquid? It affect play at B2 and B3 with mild but constant noise. Cover looks fine in shrink but with cut out hole. US mono original, V 8614 with black T- logo label and MGM print, Van Gelder in dead wax.

BECHAYANE TEGODAHU / TE...
AMHA RECORDS - Ethiopia Original
7 · VG+/Gen · 2200 SEK

"Bechayane Tegodahu" scorching Ethio funk! Flipside "Teredechewalehu" is on a more mellow and folkloristic tip but with a deep sound and very nice too. Vinyl in great shape, glossy with just a few surface lines, plays well but low pressing so mild pressing related noise can be heard. Ethiopian original, this is the Lebanon-made version without pic sleeve.

LIB TATEFALECH / HONEY ...
AMHA RECORDS - Ethiopia Original

Absolutely jaw-dropping Ethiopian r&b on "Honey baby"! Vinyl is covered in marks, but it still plays pretty well, especially on "Honey baby". Ring wear and small writing on "Honey"-label, minor writing and a rub mark on "Lib"-side. The 4-prong centre is intact. Ethiopian original (made in Inda for the Ethiopian market).

FUEGO DE PASSION / OIGA...

Two great Congolese dance sides from the early 60s. Super clean copy, just a small sticker on labels. Congolese original.

COME ON AND DO IT / SIL...
AMHA RECORDS - Ethiopia Original
7 · VG-/Gen · 2500 SEK

Fantastic funk/r&b on a very rare Ethiopian 45 from 1972. Vinyl has lots of marks and a small scratch causing about 10 pops on "Come on" (which is the main side). This side plays pretty well apart from that. The less interesting flipside has more crackle and pop. Label wear, but the centre is intact. Ethiopian original (made in Greece for the Ethiopian market). Includes torn/badly damaged custom sleeve.

COMENCEMOS / CUMBIA EN ...

KELEN ATI LEN / THE PRE...
SOUNDWAY - UK Reissue
7 · VG+/Gen · 300 SEK

"Kelen ati len" stunning afro funk, such a raw sound. Flip's killer too, a little slower. Both sides are very tough to find on their original release. This is a long deleted reissue 7".
Scorching latin/boogaloo club classics that work just about anywhere. Reissue from 2006.
"Fankante dankele" beautiful track at this strong album with no weak tracks. Record has lot of marks and has been played a lot or been without inner sleeve. It plays with constant background noise but without any major clicks or pops. A bit worse at start of both sides but in general very enjoyable. The super thin cover is in fine shape but is a bit wavy, tiny color loss on front left side plus some stains on back. Rare Malian original.
"Dugu Kamaleba" great track dominating with Fela type of horns and great vocals. Record has lot of marks and scratches, plays with rather heavy background noise but not really with any pops or clicks. The thin cover looks fine at front but is slightly wavy and has some stains on back. 1-2 cm damage at the opening as well. Malian original.
Orlando Julius does what it says at "Disco Hi-life", the funkier "Awade" and the other long disco jam "Children of the world". "Time" afro/funk with massive drums. "Now I'm a man" is good as well in a cool, funky style. Record in top shape with only a handful of soft hairlines, close to EX.
