CHAZZ / MINGUS AT THE B...
AMERICA - France Later Pressing

Recorded in 1955 featuring Mal Waldron and George Barrow. Listen to "Jump Monk". Note that this is NOT the same album as the Danish Debut release "Chazz" with similar cover. Instead, this is a French later (late 60s) pressing of the "Mingus at the Bohemia" LP, originally released in 1956.
US mono original, A-3 with orange/black Am-Par labels and RVG in dead wax. Marks and lines on record, plays with mild background noise, still enjoyable. Cover has basic shelf wear, some lamination bubbles and small and faint marker pen writing on back. Early Impulse title with lovely jazz tunes in "Impulse" and "Speak Low".
1967 soul/r&b album including the smashes "Funky Broadway" and "I'm a drifter". This copy looks nice in shrink. US 2nd issue from circa 1971 with different title (originally entitled "Now").

Piano trio album from 1986 with Olle Steinholtz and Sören Holmström. Listen to "Sommarkväll". Record has some kind of (pressing?) defect causing mild occassional ticks/crackle on parts of B2-B4, rest looks and plays ok. Cover looks ok on front but grades VG due to quite a lot of light scratching on back plus one creased corner. Swedish only original on small private label.
The groundbreaking debut album from Kool Keith & co, from 1988. Filled with rough tunes like "Ego trippin", "Funky", "Give the drummer some" and "Ease back". A-side has plenty of surface marks but plays ok. B-side is VG+. Reissue.
R&b album from 2004. Cover has a corner bump/bend and a promo sticker on back.
"Jungle Fever" huge funk classic. Cover is low VG+, has a cut corner and some ring/rub wear. US original.

Classic free jazz/experimental live album from 1972 with Chick Corea, Anthony Braxton, Dave Holland and Barry Altschul. Listen to "No Greater Love". Cover has saw cut on lower seam. US 2nd pressing, manufactured and distributed by Warner Bros.
Trio session with Daniel Humair & Eberhard Weber on drums & bass plus Gruntz on a church organ = different sound for sure. Listen to "Django". Name written on side 1 label. German original with pink MPS labels.

The South African pianist on Canadian label in 1973. Solo piano over two sides, listen to "Cherry". Canadian original.
LP from 1965 with versions of "You send me", "Chain gang" and lots more Cooke classics. Record has some minor paper marks and a few small feelable marks causing odd pops, plays well overall. The front-laminated flipback sleeve has a minor stain on back. UK mono original.
LP recorded 1974 with "Remember Rockefeller at Attica" plus the mellow but almost epic "Duke Ellington's Sound Of Love". 2nd US pressing, red/green label with 75 Rockefeller Plaza-address and WEA-logo.
