THANATOSIS PRODUKTION - Sweden Original
LP · M/M · 250 SEK
Two side-long, pulsating and slowly building pieces from an ensemble featuring Torbjörn Zetterberg, Elsa Bergman and Kasper Agnas among others - part 1 sounds a bit like a gamelan ensemble performing a Steve Reich-work and part 2 goes into krautrock territories.
Two long pieces of minimal drones/ambient, the first "made of frozen and processed violin sounds" and the other "composed on a OP-1 synthesizer".
LE MASSACRE DU PRINTEMPS
SOUFFLECONTINU RECORDS - France Reissue
LP · EX/VG+ · 180 SEK
1971 album by Gilson, quite free stuff with wild percussion and electic piano/organ, not a mile from some of Sun Ra's more out there stuff. Check "L'Imagination Au Pouvoir". Cover has 3-4 cm damage (beginning of a split) on top seam center. 2020 reissue.
Tough political rap over sparse conga rhythms, a huge influence on a generation of MCs. Check "Niggers are scared of revolution". Old reissue.
Mainly orchestral versions of Cream songs, with the exception of the groovy organ funk take on "Strange brew". "Sunshine of your love" gets an interesting treatment, and "Toad" has heavy drumming as usual. Drill hole through middle of cover and label. US original.
Rare funky jazz/fusion from 1980, sometimes going into spiritual jazz land. A strong album in general, but the bonus track "Gisela (Lion Rock)" is just magnificent. This track was comped in Jazzman's "Spiritual Jazz" series. Reissue from 2022.
German jazz from 1974 with a progressive free/spiritual sound - nice and interesting listening, check "Echoes". 2022 reissue.
